HOSEKI put an Ascot disappointment behind her to score in comfortable fashion at Haydock and is fancied to continue her steep upward trajectory raised a further 3lb in the handicap. Supplicate has also been ultra progressive this term but she didn't appear to have any real excuses when second at Redcar and the York runner-up Pendella, who was only beaten a head into second by an improver, looks the main threat. Spare a thought for handicap newcomer Black Chiffon too.
Prediction : 1st Hoseki 2nd Pendella 3rd Supplicate

This is all about NIGHT IN VEGAS. Eve Johnson Houghton's colt won his first two racecourse appearances before emerging with plenty of credit in both the Coventry and Richmond Stakes. He then defeated Zigazig Ah (second) on the July Course before recording yet another success at Doncaster and, as long as a busy season hasn't caught up with him, he will be very difficult to beat. The likes of Velociraptor and Choreography are open to further improvement and make some each-way appeal.
Prediction : 1st Night In Vegas 2nd Zigazig Ah 3rd Velociraptor

Just seven go to post for the feature but, in truth, this is likely to revolve around one horse and the Andrew Balding-trained BLUE BOLT is the star of the show. Second in the race last season, she has really taken her form to a new level this term and followed up a Duke Of Cambridge Stakes win with a trio of Group 1 successes - the most recent of those coming in the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown where City Of Memphis had no answers. The battle for third is an intriguing one and Evolutionist might be best placed to take the bronze medal.
Prediction : 1st Blue Bolt 2nd City Of Memphis 3rd Evolutionist

EVANESCO has a course win to his name over shorter and a distance win at Hamilton. He was far from disgraced last time out when fifth in a valuable handicap at Leopardstown, beaten two lengths, and, left on the same mark, he very much heads the shortlist. Arqoob has no stamina issues having won over 1m6f on the July Course in August and won't be far away, while Sportingsilvermine is another to bear in mind.
Prediction : 1st Evanesco 2nd Arqoob 3rd Sportingsilvermine

Afif looks an interesting newcomer as a son of Palace Pier out of a well-bred French mare, and the booking of Colin Keane catches the eye. He can go well but ALTIUS has he benefit of racecourse experience after finishing third when sent off favourite at Sandown. He may have simply run into a pair of smart horses that day and seems worth a second chance. Kicking Bear finished second on his introduction and should progress, while Procyon cannot be overlooked.
Prediction : 1st Altius 2nd Afif 3rd Kicking Bear

A small field for this maiden, but it's still competitive and might be form that stands up in the future. Mublish is a son of Frankel making his debut for the powerful, in-form Charlie Appleby yard and should be taken seriously, although it could be that experience wins the day and ROYAL QUEST made a promising introduction at Doncaster, which he's sure to have improved for. He also has Colin Keane in the saddle, while Chapel Stream is showing steady improvement and it was much more like it at Yarmouth following his previous Haydock no-show.
Prediction : 1st Royal Quest 2nd Mublish 3rd Chapel Stream

STARLIGHT LASS might be able to bounce back form a lacklustre effort at York. She wouldn't want the ground coming up too soft, given that was put forward as an excuse for her Knavesmire no-show, but her previous form in maiden/novice company looks solid and suggests a mark of 87 is workable. Dropping in class on just her second outing in a handicap, John and Thady Gosden's inmate gets the nod ahead of Woohoo and Enchant.
Prediction : 1st Starlight Lass 2nd Woohoo 3rd Enchant
