THE LOST KING was in good form this summer, winning a couple of valuable handicaps at York, and he's performed admirably since stepping into Group company. Beaten by the narrowest of margins at Haydock, he subsequently finished second again in the Joel Stakes here behind Talk Of New York and, given the winner's third-placed effort behind Bow Echo and Gstaad in the St James's Palace at Royal Ascot, that's a strong piece of form. Kentucky Downs winner Haatem looks the pick of the two Wathnan-owned horses in the race, and Boiling Point should also go well.Prediction : 1st The Lost King 2nd Haatem 3rd Boiling Point

Wykehurst Park looked a really nice type when winning a Yarmouth maiden second time out and should go well. Sword Salute will be out to put his superior experience to good use and isn't without a chance, nor is Netherstream. DRUMBEAT represents last year's winning trainer Aidan O'Brien and boasts the highest rating of 102 having built on a Gowran (forced a dead-heat) success with a really solid third in the Group 2 Beresford Stakes at the Curragh. He looks sure to appreciate this step up in trip.Prediction : 1st Drumbeat 2nd Wykehurst Park 3rd Sword Salute

ROCK MONTREAL looked an above-average type when scoring on debut at Yarmouth and almost kept his unbeaten record intact when narrowly denied in the Flying Scotsman at Doncaster. He had Nabati back in third that day and that one came out and took the Mill Reef spoils at Newbury. Roger Varian's charge brings a strong level of form to the table and can get the better of Sergei Diaghilev, who is more experienced and finished second to the exciting Desert Castle in the Champagne Stakes. Notable Dream and Al Jabbar are also noted.Prediction : 1st Rock Montreal 2nd Sergei Diaghilev 3rd Notable Dream

Desert Castle created a big impression when readily taking the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster and it would be no surprise to see him play a leading role once again. That said, he takes on a stronger field here and marginal preference is for DARKNESS FALLS. The son of Camelot bolted up in a Curragh maiden and was equally impressive when taking the Group 1 Golden Fleece at Leopardstown. This drop in trip is a slight concern, but the progressive colt may well be up to the challenge. Coventry winner Great Barrier Reef lost his unbeaten record when narrowly denied last time, but it is far too soon to be writing him off.Prediction : 1st Darkness Falls 2nd Desert Castle 3rd Great Barrier Reef

BEYLERBEYI relished the step up in trip when taking this contest 12 months ago and there is every chance that Ian Williams' charge can defy a 10lb higher mark. A more-than-respectable fifth in the Ebor at York, the six-year-old then found only subsequent Prix du Cadran winner Caballo De Mar too good in the Doncaster Cup. The unexposed Sea Lantern bolted up on his handicap debut over 1m4f at Pontefract and a 4lb penalty is unlikely to prevent another bold bid if he can see out the distance. Valedictory is another with strong form claims, while Cock And Bull and Reverend Hubert are just two more to note.Prediction : 1st Beylerbeyi 2nd Sea Lantern 3rd Valedictory

Charlie Appleby is looking for a hat-trick in this race after winning with Verse Of Love in 2024 and Act Of Kindness last year, and if DESERT ROMANCE lives up to her pedigree as a Dubawi filly out of a half-sister to Pinatubo, she could take first prize. Cullenagh Rainbow has a racecourse experience advantage following her 80/1 third at Kempton in August, although she will still need a step forward. Newcomer Probing, a daughter of Frankel, could prove the bigger danger.Prediction : 1st Desert Romance 2nd Probing 3rd Cullenagh Rainbow

Majestic Jude has been successful on the July Course and at Thirsk since his debut fifth, while National Honour scored at Thirsk and Kempton following a second on the July Course. Silver Sovereign will be popular, but they have to give weight to fellow hat-trick seeker MOBADIR. Much improved since being gelded, he scored by a neck at Nottingham before making all at Newbury and similar tactics at these weights may make him difficult to catch, with Ashley Lewis' 3lb claim a bonus.Prediction : 1st Mobadir 2nd Majestic Jude 3rd National Honour
