Local trainers often win this and the Moores will be hoping to add to that with Aggagio, who is capable enough having won five times over hurdles and seven on the Flat, including a C&D victory off 5lb higher in June 2025. He could go well, but ARC ZOOSVE looks worth another chance. He rattled up four in a row in the spring and was out of his depth in the Northumberland Vase at Newcastle, but a break of more than three months could have sweetened him up. Carthusian is the pick for third.
Prediction : 1st Arc Zoosve 2nd Aggagio 3rd Carthusian

War Chest did little wrong with his debut three-quarter-length third at Ascot before going one better at Newbury, finishing close to five lengths adrift of the winner. Cornichon was back in fourth in the same race, looking as if he would improve considerably, although they might both be chasing BRYNMAIR GOLD home. A 16/1 chance on debut at Kempton, he was only beaten a neck when finishing fast and could go one better.
Prediction : 1st Brynmair Gold 2nd Cornichon 3rd War Chest

A battle over nine furlongs will suit top-weight ZARAK CROWN, who showed a willing attitude to win at Ayr by a short head, with possibly a little left up his sleeve if needed. He could add to that in this field, although there are any number of challengers. Wise And Wonderful found a class two here beyond her but is better judged on her neck second off 1lb lower at Epsom in August, with the extra two furlongs ideal. Cloud Chorus, Under Arrest and Cashinoroyale are nursery debutants to consider carefully.
Prediction : 1st Zarak Crown 2nd Wise And Wonderful 3rd Cloud Chorus

This looks a wide-open contest, with a speculative vote going the way of JUNGLE DRUMS. Mid-division on heavy going in the Ayr Silver Cup, Jamie Osborne's sprinter gets another chance on his close fourth over C&D prior to that. Bone Marra placed in the Bronze Cup at Ayr and could prove popular with Billy Loughnane taking over the reins, while Deep Havana, Percy's Star and Midnight Thunder are others worthy of consideration.
Prediction : 1st Jungle Drums 2nd Bone Marra 3rd Deep Havana

Charlie Appleby trained last year's winner and ROYAL ACCLAMATION looks to have strong claims. The son of Zarak improves with every start and finished nine lengths clear of the rest of the field when narrowly beaten at Haydock last time. Bundaberg placed over 1m2f in maiden company here and could be in the mix. However, he has plenty to find with the selection on official ratings and Donegan, an impressive debut winner at Kempton, may prove a bigger danger.
Prediction : 1st Royal Acclamation 2nd Donegan 3rd Bundaberg

NAVAL LIGHT's first attempt over the mile resulted in a cosy success at Ayr and although a 6lb rise will demand more of him, Karl Burke's charge should have more to offer at this trip and gets a tentative vote. Crazee Icon got back on track at Chester and is entitled to respect, despite a rise in grade. Eternal Force is another to consider along with the impressive Haydock winner Brian.
Prediction : 1st Naval Light 2nd Crazee Icon 3rd Eternal Force

An opening mark of 81 wasn't enough to prevent PROSPERITY from maintaining her unbeaten record at Newmarket and as long as she copes with the extra couple of furlongs, a 5lb rise might not stop her. Spirit Of Athene is already proven at this trip having recorded wins at Sandown and Leicester this season. She gets on well with Ashley Lewis and can mount another serious challenge. There are a few others to be interested in, including Withtearsinmyeyes and Room Fourteen.
Prediction : 1st Prosperity 2nd Spirit Of Athene 3rd Withtearsinmyeyes
