Encounter and I Am Royal have both shown more than enough to suggest they'll be heavily involved, although HAYATE is fancied to break his duck at the second time of asking. Roger Varian's colt has been absent since finishing third at Newmarket in July, but that form has worked out extremely well and natural improvement may suffice on that evidence. Clive Cox saddles two newcomers and both might be worth more than a cursory glance.
Prediction : 1st Hayate 2nd Encounter 3rd I Am Royal

ARCTIC TSAR made a successful nursery debut at Leicester before following up impressively over 7f here a fortnight ago. The son of Kodiac was raised 12lb for that latest triumph, but there is no telling where the ceiling of his ability lies and stepping up to the mile could unlock even more improvement. Noble Prince wasn't helped by the late removal of a blindfold at Haydock, but he should have a say on this occasion, and so might Rupert The Brave, who has progressed with each run so far.
Prediction : 1st Arctic Tsar 2nd Noble Prince 3rd Rupert The Brave

GUNFIGHTER got the better of 12 rivals to score over C&D last month and he did well to hit the frame when attempting to follow up here on Friday, having been hampered at a crucial stage. Billy Loughnane keeps the partnership intact and he's expected to prove too strong for the topweight Port Road, who looks certain to relish a return to the mile. Warning Symbol should be happier back on the all-weather and he's noted too.
Prediction : 1st Gunfighter 2nd Port Road 3rd Warning Symbol

Mertoun has already won three races this season, including last time out at Windsor when scoring by a length after being produced late, but he has been put up 2lb and is making his all-weather debut. ASSIRI HEIGHTS has flattered to deceive with a second at Kempton and a more recent fourth at Southwell, but connections reach for champion jockey-elect Billy Loughane, who may galvanise the Frankel gelding. C&D winner Protectrix is a lightly-raced filly and she may have more to offer.
Prediction : 1st Assiri Heights 2nd Mertoun 3rd Protectrix

Charlie Hills will be hoping that Hidden Beyond makes it fourth time lucky after placing on her first three starts, but she has yet to get within three lengths of the winner and others may improve past her. Iris Olivia has also been there or thereabouts recently with a two-length fourth at Pontefract and she can also go well, but KEITHAAR is preferred. Sent off favourite when second at Southwell after pulling too hard, she could go one better if she settles with that experience under her belt.
Prediction : 1st Keithaar 2nd Iris Olivia 3rd Hidden Beyond

Chalk Mountain boasts three C&D victories, all off similar marks, with the latest coming off a 2lb higher rating. Not beaten far in fourth over further last month he is hard to overlook, but PHILANTHROPIST gets the nod. Third in a better race after missing the start at Sandown, George Wood who has won on him before takes the ride, and he could well score for a fourth time. Do Bronxs, Blue Prince, and Rogue Messiah are others to consider.
Prediction : 1st Philanthropist 2nd Chalk Mountain 3rd Do Bronxs

FAST TRACK HARRY, who is a previous winner on Polytrack, has some solid form to his name and is worth another chance off just 3lb below his last winning mark. Space Bear also arrives in fine fettle and she returns to handicap company with solid claims, although Aigeas has won two of his last three start here and may be a bigger danger with the drop back to 6f not expected to be an issue back at his seemingly favourite course.
Prediction : 1st Fast Track Harry 2nd Aigeas 3rd Space Bear

Nicator represents an in-from yard and could launch a strong challenge off the back of finishing a close fourth here a fortnight ago. Last month's winner at Epsom, Carnival Day steps up in trip with a shout, but another chance goes the way of TRYFAN. Harry Charlton's inmate won at Ascot during the summer and his recent third in a decent handicap at Southwell is working out really well, with both the winner and the fourth subsequently boosting the form.
Prediction : 1st Tryfan 2nd Carnival Day 3rd Nicator

The winner over 1m2f at Pontefract, Thunder Goddess appeared not to stay the 1m4f trip at the same track last time. She cannot be ruled out with any confidence, but it could pay to stick with SPINNEY. The Advertise filly bolted up over the extended 1m3f at Windsor to open her account on only her second start in handicap company, and she's taken to defy a 9lb hike given Tom Clover's yard firing in the winners at present. Ablon is preferred to Glenna of the remainder.
Prediction : 1st Spinney 2nd Thunder Goddess 3rd Ablon
