The easy winner of a point-to-point, PALINCA cost a hefty 400,000 pounds at the Cheltenham Festival sales back in March. The half-sister to a couple of jumps winners debuts under Rules for Henry de Bromhead and may well prove good enough at the first time of asking. Dooks has to be of interest on his promising fourth over hurdles at Clonmel in April, while Brady Hartsfield has decent form in bumpers and is another to note.
Prediction : 1st Palinca 2nd Dooks 3rd Brady Hartsfield

Le Roi Du Livet warrants plenty of respect having won a maiden hurdle at Tramore back in May, while Hey Now scored at Sligo in the same month. The latter beat a subsequent winner and makes most appeal of that pair, but EURO AGENT could prove the one to side with. Gordon Elliott's charge opened his account over timber with a convincing victory in maiden company at Downpatrick recently and another bold bid is anticipated.
Prediction : 1st Euro Agent 2nd Hey Now 3rd Le Roi Du Livet

LUCKY VALLEY won between the flags at Knockanard in February, and Michael Barry's mare caught the eye making late headway at Limerick on last week's hurdling debut before fading badly in the closing stages. She gets a tentative vote with improvement expected. Mcallister reverts to hurdling on his return to action and is preferred to stablemate Walking Saint, while Eliodam is worth a second glance on his first start for Gordon Elliott.
Prediction : 1st Lucky Valley 2nd Mcallister 3rd Eliodam

Younger horses have won the majority of runnings of this contest and that may continue if ARDERA GUN can build on his Limerick second where he might have been left with too much to do. Mark Walsh takes over in the saddle here and, if he can be ridden nearer to the early pace he has every chance. Champagne Dawn ran well enough to finish third at Fairyhouse and is worth another try at this trip, though Gowran Park second Talas Kera may be a bigger danger despite a 3lb hike in the weights.
Prediction : 1st Ardera Gun 2nd Talas Kera 3rd Champagne Dawn

THE BIG WESTERNER has plenty of ability, finishing second to Jimmy Du Seuil at Fairyhouse and then winning with some bold jumping at Limerick from the decent Jade De Grugy, and she looks set for a rewarding season at the highest level if she can build on those efforts despite returning from 10 months off. Rocky's Diamond seems likely to give her a race with his fitness advantage after three races in August but he may be happier on faster ground, and the admirably consistent Bossofthebrownies could be the one for the forecast.
Prediction : 1st The Big Westerner 2nd Bossofthebrownies 3rd Rockys Diamond

ZANOOSH, a Grade 1 winner over hurdles in April, will be hard to beat if she carries her form forward now she tackles fences for the first time. Mode Avion was a good second on his chasing debut at Sligo and could be a big danger to the selection with another step forward, while The Big Clubman is useful over hurdles and is another newcomer to this discipline to consider.
Prediction : 1st Zanoosh 2nd Mode Avion 3rd The Big Clubman

PRINCE MALINAS was a market mover when he finished third in a similar race over 2m4f here most recently and could be tough to deal with if picking up where he left off in May. River Cartwright ran out of steam when he tried to make all at Tramore earlier this month and can play a big part if ridden with a bit more restraint. However, Hartford rates a bigger danger on his first start since finishing fourth in a bumper at the Punchestown Festival in April.
Prediction : 1st Prince Malinas 2nd Hartford 3rd River Cartwright
