Steve Ryder picks out two bets for Tuesday's racing at Wolverhampton.
TIP 1: MINI MAC - 1pt Win
Best odds of 5/6 at bet365 while publishing.
MINI MAC has proved a revelation since being purchased out of the Jessica Macey yard for 5,000gns in October, winning both of his starts since joining Ursa Major Racing and James Owen. The four-year-old was good enough to win a Brighton novice race in 2024 before winning a Nottingham handicap the following season off a mark of 64. He had dropped down to a career low mark of 50 when winning on his stable debut for this yard over this course and distance last week following a 124 day break.
Mini Mac followed up at Southwell on Thursday under a 5lb penalty and now runs here under a double penalty. Marco Ghiani is once again on board in a bid for a quick hat-trick and he should be able to overcome his wide draw.
TIP 2: SONBELIEVABLE - 0.5pt EW
Best odds of 17/2 at Unibet, Spreadex and Sporting Index while publishing.
James Owen and Marco Ghiani look to hold strong claims again with Oppenheimer following his comfortable win on stable debut but preference instead goes to SONBELIEVABLE, who has shown progress on his two starts in handicaps. The Joe Parr trained three-year-old finished well beaten on his three qualifying runs before placing on both of his starts at Southwell over 7f.
Sonbelievable finished 3rd beaten 1 ¼ lengths off a mark of 54 prior to finishing 2nd beaten 2 ¼ lengths last time off a mark of 53. The son of Mayson still looks a work in progress and he looks overpriced with four places widely available.
