It is frustrating to see DARK SIDE THUNDER well backed from 12/1 overnight, but his claims are obvious back on the AW. The Jessica Macey trained seven-year-old has a record of 8-27 on the AW in comparison to 1-24 on turf, so his latest seven runs can be excused on turf, albeit that he has placed on three of those occasions off marks of 69, 67 and 65.

Dark Side Thunder won at Chelmsford in December off a mark of 70 and has dropped from that mark down to a mark of 62 following those seven most recent turf runs. He is now refitted with his usual visor rather than cheekpieces and he should run well if able to get a good position from Stall 6 under George Wood.
