TIP 1: BALKO D’ANGE - 1-point Each-Way (six places)
Best odds available of 13/2 at SpreadEx while publishing.
BALKO D’ANGE shaped with a tremendous amount of promise on his seasonal bow at Galway and with a profile to suggest he will be different proposition with that all-important run under his belt; Philip Fenton’s gelding can register career win number three.
Having his first since outing since finishing down the field in a competitive two-mile affair at The Punchestown Festival, the son of Balko could be forgiven if he failed to feature over a trip that tested every part of his game on heavy ground, but as events panned out, his performance in chasing home all-the-way winner Stumptown was more than what could have been expected beforehand.
Last with a circuit to run at Ballybrit, the fact he managed to pass all but the winner – who was very strong off the front - inside the final mile on a card where it paid to be handy deserved a massive upgrade and now, he is proven himself over a trip beyond his usual two-mile regime, confidence is reasonably high the six-year-old can consolidate that effort in his bid to go one place better under a more prominent ride.
