Place de La Nation was my nap of the Cheltenham festival, and she ran well for us at a big price. I wouldn’t be as confident here over a longer trip on soft ground, and although we will have a saver bet on her just in case, I’m going to be jumping ship to another Wille Mullins mare here on the same colours.

Blue Velvet’s run in Cheltenham was a bit better than the finishing position indicated. She was left at the start and nothing really got into the race from of the pace. The way the race ran she had no chance and I would put her on a par with the likes of Kingston Queen who was ahead of here but up prominent all the way.

The form of her win in a soft ground Novice hurdle win at Punchestown, has worked out well as the second has won since, and I though she shaped like a proper staying filly. That run signals to me the step up in trip here and softer ground will suit her much better than the Cheltenham race and she looks well overpriced.
