The six-year-old has always been held in high regard by his trainer Gordon Elliott
Gordon Elltiott's exciting Grade 1 winning hurdler will make his chasing bow on Tuesday as the County Meath trainer unleashes the first of his big guns on the new NH season.
A four-time winner over hurdles, the six-year-old has always been highly regarded by connections and the racing public will get the first glimpse on how well he has taken to the larger obstacles when he faces an expected seven rivals over the 2m7f trip.
The Gigginstown-owned horse features prominently in a number of Cheltenham Festival ante-post markets where he is rated a 20/1 chance for the RSA Chase and JLT Novices Chase respectively as well as also being that price for the National Hunt Chase.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: "The jumps season is back upon us and it is time for National Hunt fans to start marking their cards for next year's Cheltenham Festival. Death Duty will be a very short priced favourite tomorrow, but it is the manner of his victory that will likely dictate how the ante-post prices fluctuate. Should he win well then expect the first of many big Cheltenham moves"
