The Harry Fry five-year-old cruised to an 8 length victory at Exeter
Harry Fry appears to have a nice horse on his hands after If The Cap Fits made a perfect start to life over hurdles. Fourth in the Grade 2 bumper at the Grand National meeting back in April, the five-year-old was sent off a well-supported 1/2 favourite for the 2m2f novice hurdle.
Racing from the front throughout, jockey Noel Fehily set only a modest gallop for the first part of the race before gradually turning the screw towards the business end of the race. Encouragingly for connections, his jumping improved as the tempo increased and the two-time bumper winner pulled readily clear up the home straight.

33/1 for the Neptune with StanJames before the race, they have since cut him into 25/1 whilst a number of bookmakers have gone 20/1 off the back of his encouraging performance.
Oddschecker’s racing expert Andy Holding said after the race: “He looked impressive enough and jumped well throughout. Although the time was 20 seconds slower than standard I’d be surprised if he didn’t go to Cheltenham for the November meeting.”
