The mare has options for Cheltenham where she is also favourite for the Mares Hurdle
In one of the performances of the day on Sunday, Apples Jade showed all her class to win her sixth Grade 1 race and back-to-back Hatton’s Graces.
Jack Kennedy steered the Mare round who barely put a foot wrong and became part of a glorious day for Gordon Elliott, who won three Grade 1's in the meeting, the first time that has been accomplished.
After the race, Elliott said that “The Mares Hurdle is 100% the target” but it hasn’t stopped punters backing the five-year old for Stayers Hurdle Glory and bookies cutting her odds accordingly.
Widely available at 14/1 this morning, her impressive performance has seen odds go as short as 5/1, with 10/1 the current best price. 42% of bets have gone on her in the last 24 hours, although the horse she beat is still favourite, with Nichols Canyon being available at 6/1.
The odds for the Mares Hurdle have not been as wild in their fluctuations, with Jade now 7/4 to win the race that she triumphed in nine months ago. Her main rival looks set to be Limini, who can be found at 11/2.
Oddschecker Spokesman George Elek: “It was a real eye-catching performance for Apples Jade who pulled well clear of Nichols Canyon at Fairyhouse. The two could yet meet in the Stayers Hurdle and punters have rushed to back her winning that meeting too, but with Gordon Elliott unequivocal in stating that the Mares Hurdle is the target, 7/4 could be a big price.”
