Another win for Sizing John saw his position strengthen in the ante-post markets.
Sizing John recovered from a mistake at the first fence in the John Durkan Memorial Chase to win by seven lengths at Punchestown. The Cheltenham Gold Cup hero went off at 2/1 for the race and simply had too much for 5/4 favourite Djakadam.
Jessica Harrington hinted the King George may be the next target after the race and bookies cut the horse from 9/1 to as short as 3/1 in a place. Might Bite remains the 7/4 favourite for the Kempton showpiece.
The performance also caused bookies to react in the Cheltenham Gold Cup market, cutting the seven-year-old to 4/1 after being available at 7/1 this morning. 87.9% of bets on the market today have been on the 2017 champion to repeat the feat.
