Henry de Bromhead’s six-year-old blew away the field in Ireland
Mark Walsh rode Chris’s Dream to an easy victory at Clonmel as the 4/1 shot won the race by a massive 64 lengths. The Gordon Elliott-trained Monkshood was the 6/4 favourite for the race but ended up some way behind the eventual winner.
Following the win, the bookies dramatically cut the odds for Chris’s Dream to taste Cheltenham glory in less than a month. Before the race, the six-year-old was 50/1 to land the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle, however those odds have long gone with the majority of bookies.
Oddschecker’s grid is awashed with blue, indicating a sudden shift in odds for the race. One bookmaker has now been as cut as short as 12/1 for the race. However, Bet Bright are remaining strong with 40/1, but you’ll have to be quick to get those odds.
Since the race the bets on the Albert Bartlett have been coming in think and fast, with a few sharp punters snaffling the bigger prices before bookies react.
Oddschecker's George Elek said, "A novice hurdle at Clonmel on a Tuesday afternoon is not usually a goldmine for those searching for Cheltenham value, but the style of Chris's Dream's win has proven impossible to ignore as he has made a shock entry into the betting."
