Le Breuil’s odds cut with ten bookies following betting surge.
Ben Pauling’s six year-old finished second to Black Ivory in December following a couple of disappointing runs.
On that occasion, he lost by six lengths to eventual winner, but that result has not stopped a rather surprising betting spree. Speaking yesterday, Pauling seemed very keen on Le Breuil after he’s shown improvement following a foot injury.
He currently has two entries - the Per Temps and the Coral Cup, but the trainer admitted he’s more likely to feature in the latter.
Ante-post betting has been very prominent this morning following multiple preview nights, yet still the French horse is the one that really stands out.
In the last eleven hours, a massive 84% of bets in the Coral Cup have been on Le Breuil. He’s 16/1 best odds, but is as short as 12/1, and luckily for punters one of the bookies going 16/1 has NRNB on the race.
At the beginning of the year, he could have been backed at 33/1 with Bet365.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “There's always an upturn in ante post bets due to Cheltenham preview nights around this time of year.
“Punters are keen to get the early value, and it’s the 25/1 on Ben Pauling's Le Breuil in the Per Temps where they believe it lies.”
