The third most backed ante-post horse in 2017 is grabbing attention once again.
Coo Star Sivola was the third most backed horse during Cheltenham 2017 in terms of bets placed last year, and once again, the six year-old is dominating the betting.
Lizzie Kelly took the mount last Festival and steered him to fourth place in the Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle, after going off 13/2.
The result would have been profitable for punters taking the each-way option.
Trained by Nick Williams, the horse doesn’t even feature in the top fifty most backed ante-post horses this year - but that could be set to change with the increase in support this morning.
In the last twelve hours, the six-year-old has been the most popular Cheltenham horse on Oddschecker.
This time around he’s a 14/1 shot for the Ultima Business Solutions Handicap Chase.
With the increased support of an opening day victory, bookies have slashed the odds for Williams' horse, with no less than 22 bookmakers chopping his price for the race in the last two days.
Given his record at Cheltenham, Coo Star Sivola could soon start climbing up the most popular ante-post bets, and will no doubt be a popular choice during the Festival.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: "Coo Star Sivola will run off 4lb higher than in the Martin Pipe last year, but has good course form and was impressive in his last race, winning by 14 lengths.
"It's easy to see why he is proving popular."
