Eight-year-old Chesterfield is among the most popular Cheltenham bets, proving immensely favourable with punters and only trailing Samcro in terms of popularity.
The Seamus Mullins horse is being heavily backed for the Randox Health County Hurdle, despite entering the race as a long shot at 25/1.
Attracting around 7% of all Cheltenham bets in the last 24 hours and 49% of all bets on the County Hurdle, he’s easily the most backed horse for the handicap race.
Mullins picked up wins at both the Grand National meeting and the Scottish Champion Hurdle, but now his eyes are firmly fixed on Cheltenham.
The eight-year-old won at Kempton yesterday (March 5), which was his first outing since being beaten by 10 lengths by Cheltenham by staple Buveur D’Air in the Christmas Hurdle.
Max Dynamite is still favourite of the bunch for the handicap race at 8/1 across the board, followed by Hunters Call at 9/1 and Deal d’Estruval at 14/1.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “The Beast from the East has prevented many horses from having ideal preparation for the Festival.
“However, Chesterfield took his chance in the all-weather bumper at Cheltenham to show he’s in good form, should the trainer decide to send him to Prestbury Park next week.”
