“They tell me Samcro is unbeatable” – Unibet Ambassador Henderson.
Top trainer Nicky Henderson has claimed that if he could train any horse that’s racing at Cheltenham that isn’t his – it would be Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle favourite Samcro.
In an interview with exclusive interview with Oddschecker, Unibet ambassador Henderson heaped praise on the six-year-old, claiming: “They tell me Samcro is unbeatable.”
He said: “I think more than anything Samcro is the obvious one in the 2m and 4f Novice Hurdle.
“We have On the Blind Side and he’s a very good horse, but they tell me Samcro is unbeatable.
“Every year we have a battle between England and Ireland – and don’t forget we got beaten by Ireland last year.”
Henderson will compete with the Gigginstown favourite with his entry On the Blindside, which is second favourite for glory at 11/2.
The Gordon Elliot-trained horse is standalone favourite for the Ballymore at 8/11, followed bya Next Destination at 11/2, Henderson’s On the Blind Side at 6/1 and Getabird best price 8/1.
In total, Samcro has accumulated a staggering 46% of all bets on the Novice’s race since the market opened.
