There's been strong support for the horse that's been unbeaten this season.
The JLT Novices Chase looks wide open, but betting since the first race of the festival indicated that 9/1 Benetar has a serious chance of landing Thursday’s race.
Benetar was beaten by Le Breuil on soft ground in March last year, with the eventual winner now as short as 10/1 for the Coral Cup.
A massive 89% of bets in the JLT since the Supreme Novices Chase have been Gary Moore’s horse to cash in.
Not only is he hand and heels above any other horse in the race, but boasts considerably more support than any other Festival horse in the last couple of hours.
A handful of bookies have already cut Benetar to 5/1, and with considerable support continuing, we expect other bookmakers to match that price, or possibly go even shorter.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “Gary Moore's Benatar has not run on testing ground this season, but punters clearly think that it won't be a problem as they pile into him for the JLT.
“Unbeaten this season, it is no shock that the quotes of 9/1 were gobbled up early.”
