Willie Mullins’ horse maybe odds on but punters are looking elsewhere
Laurina was many people’s NAP of the Festival, and the price put out by the bookies suggests they’re willing to accept another favourite winning.
However, today the bettors are looking elsewhere in the penultimate race of day three.
A massive 22% of bets today have been on Maria’s Benefit ruining the day, and somewhat saving bookies.
Stuart Edmund’s horse comes into the race in good form, winning five hurdle races in a row for his yard.
Maria’s Benefit could have been backed at 13/2 last night with some bookies, but now finds itself at as short as 5/1 with a handful of bookies.
Laurina is second in ters of betting support, but was hands and heels above the rest in the ante-post punting.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “'It's been talked up that Laurina has been a sure thing all festival, however at 8/13 the juice looks to have been squeezed out of the price and punters are now looking elsewhere for the value.
“Marias Benefit is second in the market and is where the support is shifting.”.”
