Incredible Day 4 sees Betway earn 111.25pts and complete comeback forever known as Tipstanbul
We told you that there were four teams in the hunt heading into the final day. We were wrong. An incredible day of tipping by the Betway traders has seen them go from 11pts of profit to 122.25pts, crowning them champions of the 2018 Cheltenham Traders Tipping League in the process.
They kicked off proceedings with a place in the form of both Mr Adjudicator (8/1) and Chesterfield (22/1) in the Triumph and County Hurdle’s respectively. Following that came arguably the tip of the festival. Kilbricken Storm was tipped up both ante-post at 33/1 and on the morning of Day 4 at 50/1 to cap off the remarkable turn of events that will forever be remembered as Tipstanbul.
Going into the Grand Annual only Black Type could have stopped Betway from winning, with 5pt on Rock The World to win at 25/1. Had he won, Black Type would have won by 0.25pts, however he came ninth and Black Type finished eighth on -7pt.
Despite being 49.5pts ahead after Day 1, BetVictor failed to capitalise on their remarkable start and finished in fifth spot on 53.8pts. 2017 Champions, Coral, finished in second place after an impressive final day with Chesterfield e/w and a sizeable punt on Native River.
Note: If you’d have followed all traders’ tips throughout the festival with £20/pt you’d have been £6,240 in profit over the four days.
