An impressive victory at Down Royal has triggered a flurry of bets on the Cheltenham ante-post markets.
After storming home on his hurdling debut in the first race at Down Royal on Saturday, bookies have been quick to slash odds on Gordon Elliott’s Coeur Sublime winning the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham Festival.
Priced at 25/1 yesterday, he’s now leading the market as short as 14/1 in places, available at a current best price of 20/1.
The three-year-old also won on his sole start on the flat back in April, beating Southern France, a horse that subsequently took third at the St Leger Stakes at Doncaster recently.
After triumph over hurdles at Down Royal today, it seems likely that Gordon Elliott will line up the much talked about gelding at Cheltenham next March.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “It was a hugely impressive performance at Down Royal earlier and connections are right to be excited about the future of this horse.”
“We’ve seen a flurry of bets come in on the Triumph Hurdle ante-post market today, with a massive 78% of bets in the last 24 hours going on Coeur Sublime.”
