Kayley Woollacott look to have a serious prospect on her hands.
There was a huge story in the very first ITV televised race of Sunday, as Lalor won impressively in the Arkle Trophy Trial Novices’ Chase, prompting Mick Fitzgerald to say ‘It would take a very good horse to knock him out of Arkle contention’.

A superb round of jumping saw the popular six-year-old cruise home, well clear of Dynamite Dollars and favourite Claimantakinforgan. The performance has also seen his odds crash for the Arkle in March, with some bookies (such as bet365) going as short as 8/1.
That is much shorter than his best price this morning of 33/1 with the same bookie, as punters will no doubt flock to Lalor after what they saw.
Less than 8% of people playing the ITV7 game picked Kayley Woollacott’s horse, but a lot more will now be on the lookout for his next running, and especially a potential repeat if he can power up the hill again in four months time.
Oddschecker Spokesman George Elek: “Lalor was a hugely popular winner at Cheltenham on Sunday, and some bookies have cut his odds from 33s into just 8s for the 2019 Arkle. Dicky Johnson powered the four-year-old home and if he can jump that well again next March, we may have a future superstar on our hands.”
