Unbeaten in two starts, Gordon Elliott will now rest him until the Champion Bumper in March
Malone Road is now the current Champion Bumper favourite for Cheltenham next year after a sizzling display at Punchestown.
Gordon Elliott’s youngster was the SP favourite for his run Sunday afternoon after winning very handily at Down Royal last time out.
What followed was an even better run, winning by 9L over Mt Leinster and cementing his chances for Cheltenham Glory in March 2019.
Wow - Malone Road looked good on debut at @Downroyal a few weeks ago and he might have looked even better here, trouncing the highly-regarded Mt Leinster in the finale at @punchestownrace for @CoddJJ, @gelliott_racing and @CPStudOfficial: pic.twitter.com/8VWbqGF9jz

Available at 16/1 this morning, he’s now an 8/1 best price favourite, but as short as 5s after consecutive wins.
Elliott has already confirmed that he will not be running now until the Champion Bumper and no doubt there will be plenty of support for him in the months to come.
Oddschecker Spokesman George Elek: “Malone Road romped clear at Punchestown on Sunday to become the outright favourite for the Champion Bumper. In from 16s to 8/1 best price after a nine-length win, Gordon Elliott could well have another Cheltenham Festival winner on his hands."
