The 50/1 available before his International Meeting victory on Saturday is long gone.
Bookies have slashed odds on Brain Power winning the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival after a convincing win in the International Hurdle at Prestbury Park on Saturday afternoon.
The highly-rated seven-year-old was priced at 50/1 before his appearance at Cheltenham and is now as short as 14/1, with a best price of 25/1 available. Punters have been quick to back Brain Power, with 64% of bets since the race going on him.
Nicky Henderson’s gelding had a frustrating run last season, second to Footpad in the Arkle Chase at the festival last year but falling at Ascot and Aintree. He was a disappointing eighth in the Champion Hurdle in 2017, a race won by this year’s favourite and stablemate, Buveur D’Air (1/1).
Switching back to hurdles today, punters will be excited by the strong performance from Brain Power, a horse that seems yet to live up to his full potential.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “The return to hurdles did Brain Power plenty of good this afternoon, winning comfortably in testing conditions.”
“Another crack at the Champion Hurdle looks likely, with his price now more than halved by most bookies, but he will have to find some consistency to overcome his likely opponents.”
