13:40 Newbury - Harambe

Alan King’s six year-old Harambe looks likely to go off odds-on in the second race at Newbury. He’s looking to land his first win since December 2017, and that win could spark considerable support in the ante-post markets.

He’s currently a 100/1 poke with Bet365 for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle, and with only two bookies offering odds it’s obvious a few firms doubt he’ll be going to the Festival. That said, a convincing victory today will see those odds shorten.

15:20 Newbury - Midnightreferendum

Another potential Cheltenham runner taking part at Newbury today is Midnightreferendum, who is looking for back-to-back wins in a tightly contested race. The mare is currently 9/4 to take the victory today.

Again only a handful of bookmakers have odds on this horse winning at Cheltenham, with a few firms pricing up the six year-old at 40/1 to win the Mares' Novices' Hurdle.

14:50 Newbury

It's also worth keeping an eye on how Carlos Du Fruitier runs in the 14:50 at Newbury.

The form of the seven-year-old's 3rd at Kempton has since been boosted as the 2nd place that day, Glen Rocco, went on to win impressively in the Unibet Handicap Chase last weekend.

If Ben Pauling's charge goes well today there will be certain interest in Glen Forsa in the ante-post markets as he beat both Glen Rocco and Carlos Du Fruitier on Boxing Day.
