Five horses that could make movements in the Cheltenham markets on Saturday.
Four-time winner Jerrysback needed the run at Cheltenham in November after 633 days unraced but has since picked up where he left off previously with two strong runs at Bangor and Ascot. It will be interesting to see if his jumping stands the test at Haydock. Current Cheltenham prices: 16/1 Close Brothers, 25/1 Ultima Handicap, 33/1 NH Chase.
If You Say Run – Ascot 13:50 -
Paul Nicholls' mare has never finished outside the top two in a race she has finished, which says all you need to know about he quality. If the seven-year-old can emerge victorious in a competitive race at Ascot the 25/1 available on the Mares Hurdle will shorten dramatically.
Tom George's charge was last seen finishing third to Angels Breath in December, but the step up in trip and drop in grade should see him go a lot closer to victory at Ascot this time around. Seddon's odds could crash for the Supreme Novices Hurdle, where he is currently 50/1.
Global Citizen – Haydock 14:40
Global Citizen went too hard too early in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day but this step down in trip should see the front-runner challenge until the final stages. If Ben Pauling's seven-year-old can make all to victory we could be looking at a Champion Hurdle entrant (currently 40/1).
Mick Channon's horse is a leading candidate in the big field handicap at Ascot and if he can defy his mark, the 2018 Festival winner will be slashed in the ante-post markets. Don't be surprised if come Saturday afternoon the seven-year-old is favourite for the Brown Advisory Plate.
