13.00 Huntingdon – Daphne Du Close (Mares Novices’ Hurdle) – 8/1, Evs today

Undoubtedly the most interesting runner of the day, Daphne Du Close made a huge impression in her two bumper runs, winning the second in what now looks a stellar field including Western Ryder and Dynamite Dollars and representing the powerful Nicky Henderson. That she is currently the second favourite for the Mares Novices’ Hurdle shows her potential, so the Evs available today is sure to be popular despite the two year lay-off.

13.55 Doncaster – Ozzie The Oscar (Grand Annual) – 25/1, 7/2 today

Richard Johnson takes up the ride on Ozzie the Oscar again having steered him to victory at Cheltenham back in December. He has been put up 4lbs for that win but looks be improving rapidly and will surely shorten up for the Grand Annual should show that same winning attitude today.

14.30 Doncaster – Giving Glances (Trimph Hurlde) – 40/1, 10/3 today

Alan King’s filly was pulled up when sent of favourite last time out at Aintree and will need to put that run behind her if she is to beat a decent looking field here including the unbeaten Fabianski. Current quotes of 40/1 for the Triumph will be short lived should she put that previous run behind her.

14.40 Huntingdon - Magic of Light (Kim Muir Challenge Cup) – 20/1, 11/8

The return to fences for Magic of Light suggests that the Kim Muir may well be the target, although given her win in a Mares Hurdle race at Ascot when last seen, there are many options still available for connections. A win today and a good round of jumping would surely see the 20/1 cut, whilst there are also suggestions of a possible Grand National run.

15.15 Huntingdon - Court Liability (Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle) – 25/1, 85/40

Court Liability will be hoping to make it five wins from five starts today, and the attempt at a perfect six could well be at Prestbury Park. He came back from a 12 month break to win with a fair bit in hand at Musselburgh and will likely go off favourite here again. After that break there is no reason why he won’t come on further for that last run and the handicapper could have a tough time catching up ahead of Cheltenham.
