We’ve seen a flurry of activity for this lot ahead of Saturday’s event.
BIRCHDALE
Nicky Henderson’s five-year-old is the 2/1 ante-post favourite for the Ballymore Classic Novices Hurdle and his options are open for the future. He holds possible entries for the Supreme (33/1), Ballymore (25/1) and Albert Bartlett (25/1), but expect all those markets to shift if he follows up on his four-length win at Warwick last month.
BLACK OP
Plenty of bookies have shortened his price for the Cleeve Hurdle bit you can still get 9/2 best price if you shop around. Again, there’s a number of possible entries for the eight-year-old but he’s the shortest price for the Stayers Hurdle, where he’s currently a 14/1 shot.
ADJALI
Favourite for the JCB Triumph Trial hurdle at 13/8, Adjali is 16/1 to win the real thing in March. Some bookies have him at 10/1 however, but a good run here could see him surge to the top of this market.
KILDISART
The challenge of Glen Forsa in the Timeform Novices Handicap Chase a tough one for the seven-year-old but if he can catch the eye here, then his 33/1 chances for the JLT Novices Chase could be a thing of the past.
FRODON
Whether it be the Gold Cup (33/1) or Ryanair (16/1), Frodon will look to best long-term rivals Elegant Escape and Terrefort in the Trial Cotswold Chase this weekend. He’s the current ante-post favourite at 5/2, and is backed by 42% of total bets to date.
