When Bachelor was last seen back in December he fell at the last when joined by Sir Erec, who is now favourite for the Triumph. A good showing today would therefore show Noel Kelly’s gelding as hugely overpriced for the race, whilst Nicky Henderson’s Lisheen Castle would surely enter the market should he oblige.

14.55 Market Rasen – Clarendon Street (33/1 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle), 5/4 today

Having finished 2nd behind the smart stablemate Birchdale on his first run for Nicky Henderson, Clarendon Street went one better last time at Wetherby when justifying a 2/5 SP with a dominant display. He faces a tough order today against Muratello who ran behind the very smart Mister Fisher last time, and should either of those two win well today they will sure enter many’s reckoning for one the Novices’ Hurdles at Prestbury Park.
