14.25 Kelso – We Have A Dream (50/1 Champion Hurdle), 2/5 today

Once as short as 14/1 for the Champion Hurdle, the last few months have been disappointing for We Have A Dream. Having initially won his first five runs in Great Britain under the master tutelage of Nicky Henderson, he has found it tough going since a seven months summer break, but this looks a far easier test to get back to winning ways ahead of a Cheltenham challenge.

14.40 Clonmel – Allaho (40/1 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle), 9/2 today

It’s fair to say that Allaho is being priced up on his connections and reputation rather than form, both for today’s race and for Cheltenham. He somewhat fluffed his lines on debut for Willie Mullins when finishing 4th on debut despite being strong in the betting, and he will need to show a much bolder showing against a host of previous winners, including Capuccimix who is the same price for the Albert Bartlett.

15.00 Kelso – Definitely Red (33/1 Gold Cup), 2/9 today

Brian Ellison’s 10 year-old continues to go from strength to strength with runs ahead of Double Shuffle and Black Corton this season showing his Gold Cup class. He finished 6th in the race last year after being sent off at 8/1, and the 33s available now looks good value given what we have seen from him in recent months. Today’s two runner race won’t pose much of a challenge should he harbour serious Gold Cup hopes.
