Mick Channon could have a future star on his hands.
Glen Forsa has been cut from 40/1 to as short as 5/1 for the Arkle after a 19-length demolition job at Sandown.
The victory was made all the more impressive as Mick Channon’s chaser left the lauded Kalashnikov in his wake, causing him to be the subject of four out of five of all bets (79.5%) in the hour proceeding the race.
Connections could still yet choose to send the seven-year-old to the JLT as the path they will take is still unclear. Glen Forsa is as short as 6/1 for the 2m4f race after being available at 28/1 earlier this morning.
Oddschecker spokesperson, George Elek: 'That was not the Kalashnikov that we were expecting to see, but Glen Forsa could not have been more impressive in victory.
'It's hard to know how much weight to place in the performance given the three runners, but he travelled like a dream and jumped like a stag, so it's no shock to see him prove popular with punters for Cheltenham.'
