Nicky Henderson's four-year-old looked every bit a contender after romping home.
Fusil Raffles more than justified his favouritism in the Adonis Hurdle at Kempton, by sweeping home to victory and seeing his Triumph Hurdle odds tumble from 33/1 into as short as 4/1.
Nicky Henderson had to be happy with what he saw, as the four-year-old didn’t look troubled and left his rivals for dead, leading to a rush of ante-post bets on the Friday race at the festival.
A huge 86% of bets in the Triumph Hurdle market since the race finished has gone on Fusil Raffles, who can definitely contend if he shows off the jumping skills that took him to victory this Saturday.
He’s currently 10/1 best price, if you are happy to go without NRNB.
The favourite remains Sir Erec, who is 6/4 best price, with Quel Destin second favourite at 11/1 best price.
Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: “It was a very impressive performance from Fusil Raffles and he has made himself a late Triumph contender with victory in the Adonis Hurdle. 33s into 4/1 is a huge cut in price, any ante-post backers will now be watching next month with bated breath if they weren’t already!”
