Dan Skelton’s Crucial Role was well beaten in a Grade 2 on his last showing, and will hope to bounce back to winning ways in handicap company before Cheltenham, where he looks to have a decent chance in the Ultima if returning to the form that saw him hack up at Uttoxeter back in December, beating the subsequent winner Now Mcginty.
