This lot have been hugely backed in the markets as we edge closer towards Cheltenham.
NATIVE RIVER – 9/2 best price for the Gold Cup
Currently the joint-favourite for the showpiece race, money has flocked in over the weekend on last year’s winner retaining his crown. Clan Des Obeaux and Presenting Percy are currently the same best price in the market, but focus has shifted towards Colin Tizzard’s veteran.
KLASSICAL DREAM – 6/1 best price for the Supreme Novice Hurdle
Backed hugely on Sunday following the Supreme declarations, there are many hopes resting on the five-year-old giving Willie Mullins a sixth victory in this race, and to prove that his switch from the Ballymore was the correct call.
ANGELS BREATH – 5/1 best price for the Supreme Novice Hurdle
Another one who has come down in the Cheltenham opener, one bookie has him as short as 7/2 to give Nicky Henderson the perfect start to the festival. Nico De Boinville gave him the nod earlier in the week and we’ll soon find out whether he bounces back from that surprise loss handed to him by Southfield Stone last month.
UP FOR REVIEW – 16/1 best price for the Ultima
Punters have potentially identified some each-way value in the Ultima with another Mullins horse receiving a great deal of support. Third on reappearance in January, he goes to Cheltenham this year hoping to better his two other efforts at the festival in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
Defi Du Seuil – 10/3 best price for the JLT
He’s out of Arkle contention but now favourite in many places for the JLT, and money has come in all weekend for the 2017 Triumph winner. So impressive then, that race could be fresh in the mind of the 63% of punters in the JLT market that have backed him since Saturday morning.
