Punters have been piling on this runner since the weather forecast.
Red hot favourite to be crowned top trainer, Gordon Elliott, is enjoying a market mover in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle this morning. Felix Desjy won his latest outing at Punchestown beating Jetez by five lengths, and is catching attention.
With rain forecast all morning at the Prestbury Park, punters are looking for horses who will be able to cope with the tricky trip under foot.
Felix Desjy came second to Salsaretta in difficult conditions at Limerick at Punchestown and has some decent form on soft ground back in 2017.
A couple of bookies had the six year-old at 16/1 yesterday, and he’s since drifted to 25/1 with the majority of bookies. With William Hill going seven places in the opener, it’s no shock the punters are on the hunt for a bit of value.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: "Punters are searching for the value in the first race as they chase a big win to get their festival off to a flyer.
"Gordon Elliott horses are always popular at Cheltenham and following the 2018 top trainer is never a terrible decision."
