Traders go a combined 25.9 points up on day one of 2019 Cheltenham Traders Tipping League
It looked as though the floodgates were set to open in the Supreme Novices Hurdle, with 39 points staked on the Festival's opener. However the supremely popular Angels Breath and Al Dancer failed to impress, with 1pt each way on Itchy Feet at 33/1 proving to be the only tip to place in the first race.
Following a slow start, Duc Des Genievres delivered the goods at 8/1 ante-post for Betfred - who allocated a chunky 5pt each-way on the Mullins horse, with Ladbrokes collecting some winnings with 3pt at 13/2 on the day. BetVictor didn't have as much fun, opting to allocate their 10 Tuesday points on two horses in the Arkle but neither Hardline or Kalashnikov challenged.
Beware the Bear at 14/1 was the only success story in the Ultima, whilst Roksana was a popular pick in the Mares Hurdle as table-topping Betfred and William profted from her success. Unfortunately there wasn't much to shout about in the final two races on day one, but it proved to be a successful day on the whole for the trading teams. If you had put £20 per point on each of their ante-post/daily tips for Tuesday you'd have been over £500 in profit. A strong start!
Tomorrow's selections will be live on site first thing in the morning, until then you can find all of Wednesday's betting markets here.
