The reigning champions secured 36.6 points of profit on an otherwise brutal day for traders
After a cracking opening day on the whole, the bookies got off to the worst possible start with 0 points profit from a combined 43 points staked in the Ballymore Novice Hurdle. William Hill's ante-post each way punt on Topofthegame at 6/1 stopped the rut before Nico de Boinville romped home on 33/1 shot William Henry for Betway.
In the same race, Bet365 secured profit on Ballyandy each way, but despite a huge number of punts on the following three races there wasn't any sign of life until the finale on day two. Sempo and Abacadabras were the two most popular picks in the Champion Bumper but Betway's Envoi Allen (11/2) managed to hold off competition from Blue Sari. With 3 points on the Chelsea manager's namesake, BlackType would not have been impressed.
Overall it's been a wounding day for traders and followers of the Cheltenham Traders Tipping League alike, with over P/L now sitting at a miserable -52.3. Fingers crossed for a prettier picture tomorrow, where a load more ante-post picks are on show.
