Tuesday's racing resulted in only 7% of win-only bets landing
Only three of the 25 highest staked ante-post horses settled through Oddschecker have won at Cheltenham Festival so far.
Thus far, only Envoi Allen, Altior and Tiger Roll have been able to come up trumps for ante-post backers, with the other 22 failing to get the job done.
Some of the highest staked horses of the Festival haven’t done it for bettors, with the likes of Lalor, Apples Jade, Buveur D’Air, Kalashnikov and Delta Work all failing to register a win.
In fact, just 7% of win-only bets were successful on Tuesday, with only one favourite (6/1 SP) victorious.
However, punters did start to claw back yesterday, with Altior and Tiger Roll hosing up. Along with Envoi Allen, they helped punters reach 46% of win-only bets landing on Ladies Day.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “The perils of ante-post betting; a horse can seem almost unbeatable months before the Festival before circumstances change and the good thing is no longer so good.
“Many will be sitting on some lovely prices on the likes of Paisley Park and Epatante today though, and will hope they are rewarded for their foresight.”
