A win in testing conditions sees Nicky Henderson’s horse backed for further Cheltenham success.
Pentland Hills showed great stamina to hold on in the rain at Aintree and Thursday's success has him down from 25s into 14/1 for the 2020 Champion Hurdle with one bookie.
Those odds are shorter than the 20/1 on offer when he won the Triumph Hurdle at this year’s Cheltenham Festival, and bookies across the board have cut their price on Nicky Henderson’s talented two-miler.
14s is the shortest current price, with 25s still on offer, although that may not be around for long, especially if punters continue to back the four-year-old.
He’s attracted 78% of bets since his success on Merseyside and it’s now four wins from five, which include two wins for Chris Wall before his switch to Henderson last November.
Espoir D’Allen remains the 11/2 best price favourite in these early stages.
Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: “A win in much tougher conditions than his Triumph success would have delighted Nicky Henderson, who must now have future Cheltenham success on his mind for this horse who can do no wrong at the moment.”
