Nigel Twiston-Davies' charge enjoyed a successful chasing debut at Prestbury Park.
One of last season’s most exciting hurdlers Al Dancer has been slashed into as short as 12/1 for the 2020 Arkle at Cheltenham.
This comes following his victorious seasonal reappearance in a hotly anticipated race at Cheltenham’s Showcase Meeting.
Having been priced at 33/1 before that appearance, some bookmakers have gone as short as 12/1, with 14/1 the best price on offer.
Nigel Twiston-Davies’ gelding saw off competition from Paul Nicholls’ Getaway Trump to bag a win on his debut over fences.
Going off odds-on with many bookmakers at 10/11, the six-year-old battled up the hill to justify favouritism.
Sam Twiston-Davies was in the saddle once more, a combination which saw Al Dancer win an impressive four races on the bounce last season, including the Betfair Hurdle at Ascot.
That form saw him go into last year’s Cheltenham Festival with plenty of expectation surrounding him. However, he ended up disappointing in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, finishing back in 10th in the race eventually won by Klassical Dream.
Two Willie Mullins runners make up the rest of the top of the market for the Arkle at this point. Laurina is priced at 14/1 while Melon (12/1) is the early ante-post favourite.
