The County Tipperary pilot is backed to defeat her male counterparts
Rachael Blackmore is the most popular punt to win the Top Jockey title at Cheltenham Festival this year, attracting over half of all bets in the last week.
Famous for riding the likes of Minella Indo, A Plus Tard and Monalee – Blackmore has received 62% of all bets through the Oddschecker grids over the last seven days.
In turn, bookies have cut odds on Blackmore reigning supreme from 12/1 into 8/1, with money continuing to come for her.
That’s despite going up against stiff competition, with the likes of Paul Townend, Barry Geraghty and Davy Russell sitting pretty at the top of the market.
Townend is the 15/8 clear favourite, with Geraghty and Russell both penned as 9/2 joint second-favourites.
Jack Kennedy follows next in the race to win the prestigious individual award, currently 6/1 in the betting.
English jockey Nico de Boinville is next in the running at 8/1, alongside Blackmore. Then comes Robbie Power, who has been well backed over the last week, priced at 14/1.
Mark Walsh and Harry Cobden come next at 20/1 and 25/1 respectively, followed by Richard Johnson (33/1) and Aidan Coleman (33/1).
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Rachael Blackmore rode her first Cheltenham winner last year in the Close Brothers Novices’ Hurdle – and punters think she could be in line for a lot more this year.
“A runners-up spot in the Jockey’s Championship behind Paul Townend would be a mightily impressive feat. But punters will be hoping she can go one better, and land a tasty 8/1 ante-post punt.”
