Delta Work has been cut from 8/1 into 4/1 for the Gold Cup
Delta Work landed the Irish Gold Cup in style and has now confirmed his position as one of the top contenders for the Gold Cup at Cheltenham.
Having been 8/1 before today, bookies have cut his price after a comprehensive display. He is now as short as 4/1 for the race in March, but is still a best price of 6/1 with two bookmakers.
In a pulsating race, Delta Work, Presenting Percy and Kemboy were in a line approaching the final fence and it looked anyone’s race.
Delta Work took the lead after jumping the last and stayed on very well, with Kemboy unable to get past him.
He has now backed up his Savills Chase performance and looks to have very strong claims for the Gold Cup.
Kemboy has been pushed out from 11/2 to as big as 8/1 after his second place finish. His jumping could have been tidier today and looks to have been beaten by the better horse.
Presenting Percy ran a good race in third but was outclassed by his rivals at the end. He has been eased out to 14/1 in the betting.
Last year’s winner Al Boum Photo is still strong as the top of the market, currently a best price of 9/2. Santini is a slightly longer price at 11/2.
