Can Flinteur Sacre follow in his legendary brother’s steps?
Sprinter Sacre’s full brother, Flinteur Sacre, has had his odds cut on winning the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham, following an impressive win at Kempton.
The five-year-old has been cut from 33/1 into as short as 16/1, with bookies cutting odds immediately after he hacked up.
He was sent off at 2/5 for the race, and never looked in trouble as he cruised through round the course and eased past his rivals on the run in.
Barry Geraghty didn’t touch him once as he showed an impressive turn of foot up to the finish line.
Since the race finished, a whopping 91% of bets in the race have backed the Jonjo O’Neill-owned gelding.
Elsewhere, Appreciate It is the clear favourite for the Champion Bumper at 9/4, followed by Panic Attack (10/1), Isreal Champ (12/1), Forged in Fire (16/1) and Darling Daughter (16/1).
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Barry Geraghty hardly had to move a muscle on Flinteur Sacre as he cruised to his first success on a racecourse.
“The Champion Bumper could be on the horizon for Sprinter Sacre’s brother. If he could even scale some of the heights he did, then we could have another star on our hands.”
