News of Glenloe’s withdrawal from the Kim Muir Handicap Chase has resulted in a whopping 59% of ante-post bets being down before the Festival has even started.
Previously the clear 5/1 market leader, his withdrawal has sent shockwaves through the market, with Glenloe the punters’ darling.
In total, 58.8% of all bets since the market opened have backed the Gordon Elliott-trained Cheltenham hope.

Looking at just bets placed over the last week, 43% of all bets in the market have backed the nine-year-old.
Consequently, Ben Pauling’s Le Breuil now leads the betting at 10/1, followed by No Comment (12/1), Fitzhenry (14/1) and At the Acorn (16/1).
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Plenty of ante-post backers of Glenloe will be beside themselves this morning following the news he will be missing Cheltenham.
“He had been backed like losing was out of the equation in March. The harsh nature of ante-post betting has left many burnt fingers today.
“The nine-year-old looked the handicap steering job of the festival, but leaves the Kim Muir wide open now following his setback.”
