Imperial Aura and Shiskin spare the blushes with impressive wins on opening day.
It was bet365 that got off to a flying start with 5pts on Shiskin to win the Supreme ante-post. Betfair were the only other trading team to have a play in the opener having backed Fiddlerontheroof both ante-post and on the day but unfortunately jockey Robbie Power couldn’t light his fuse.
There was no luck in the Arkle for Betway, bet365, Betfair, Sky Bet or Coral despite a wide variety of horses covered and the story would have been the same in the Ultima if it wasn’t for Big River securing a place at 20/1 for the 2017 champions.
Sharjah was the only success story today for reigning champions Betway as Cepage slipped out of the places late on in the Ultima but Imperial Aura’s win in the Northern Trust was the biggest win of the day across the board for overnight leaders Paddy Power.
