Rachael Blackmore is on the drift despite her win on Honeysuckle…
Barry Geraghty has replaced his compatriot Rachael Blackmore as the punters’ pick to be crowned Top Jockey at this year’s Cheltenham Festival.
An eye-catching win on Epatante in the Champion Hurdle has seen Geraghty's odds crash on riding the most winners this week.
The Irishman has been cut from 8/1 into as short as 2/1 to be crowned Top Jockey, with the best price of 3/1 still available with some firms.
Heralded as the punters’ darling in the lead up to the Festival, Rachael Blackmore (9/2) has drifted to the third favourite behind Paul Townend (7/2).
Davy Russell follows next in the market at 7/1, followed by Nico De Boinville (7/1), Robbie Power (16/1) and Patrick Mullins (25/1).
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Prior to the Festival, we did anticipate Irish jockeys dominating the Top Jockey market – and day one certainly proved fruitful for the Emerald Isle.
“Barry Geraghty is the hot pick at the moment in the market, with a supremely well-piloted ride on Epatante in yesterday’s championship race.
“Since the victory, a whopping 45% of all bets in the market have backed the County Meath man to ride the most winners this Festival.”
