Andy Holding: “This horse ran to a big number when he won a bumper at Kempton. He ran to a 63 on debut over hurdles at Taunton, he wasn’t 100% fit either. He jumped fantastically and travelled great."

Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle

Ed Quigley: “Paul Nicholls has said they will go to the Challow Hurdle and then to the Ballymore. He’s wiped the floor with everything in his last couple of races."

“I think he will go off a short price for the Challow Hurdle, and if he wins, he will be an even shorter price that he is at the moment.”

Mares’ Hurdle

Andy: “Concertista was 10 seconds faster than Honeysuckle on the same weekend at Fairyhouse and she was never off the bridle. If I was to have a few filthy each-way ante-post bet now, Concertista is worth backing now at 5/1. She’s got an amazing record at Cheltenham, she’s just a brilliant mare. There’s not a great deal between them when they’re at their very best, and Concertista is improving at a rapid rate of knots. My advice is to back Concertista each-way at 5/1 because I think you will be on a brilliant bet on the day.”

RSA Chase

Monkfish

Andy: “Monkfish’s time figure was better than Envoi Allen’s and he did it in a canter. Now he’s got fences in front of him and sky is the limit. I think the 10/3 come Festival time will look one of the value bets of the Festival.”

Ed: “I was happy to see him beaten over two miles, which was the wrong trip. I still think at 33/1 he’s a big player. He will be over this distance going forward, he likes Cheltenham. It’s shaping up to be a great race, and he’s the overpriced horse in this.”

Andy Holding added, “That’s an amazing price.”

Champion Chase

Both Andy and Ed aren’t convinced about Chacun Pour Soi at his current price.

Greaneteen

Ed: “I wouldn’t give up on Greaneteen at 20/1 yet. His action makes me think I would love to see him on a spring surface. It was a pretty good run in the Tingle Creek, he acquitted himself well. He’s entitled to improve but it’s such a ground dependent race.” 

Put The Kettle On

Andy: “Put The Kettle On doesn’t want a bog, but she proved her durability earlier this season. Her time figure when winning the Arkle was good, the form is working out and De Bromhead is a master with these two mile chasers. I’m very happy with the 20/1 I put her up at earlier this year.”

Stayers’ Hurdle

Sire Du Berlais

Andy: “I’ve been keen on Sire Du Berlais since doing the numbers for the Pertemps Final. I couldn’t believe his price after Cheltenham. I still think 7/1 is way too big for a horse of his quality. To win over 2m4f is a headscratcher, it shows you how good he is that he managed to win.”

Thomas Darby

Ed: “At 80/1, there’s about 15 or 20 horses ahead of him in the betting who are either no way near good enough to win the stayers or hurdle or aren’t going to run in the race. But here we have a trainer saying they are going to aim for the Stayers’ Hurdle. I’d love to see him over a staying trip, the best he has run is over 2m4f. If he makes it to the race he will be a 14/1 or 16/1 poke."

Minella Indo

Andy: “Minella Indo was the one to take out of last year’s RSA. He’s proven at Cheltenham. Everything about him this season is going in the right direction. He’s definitely got a big one in him. 

Delta Work 

Ed: “He’s a fair old price at 33/1. I see him starting at around a 10 or 12/1 poke. There’s no danger of him going anywhere else. Of those at the top of the market, I really like Minella Indo.
