As big as 16/1 before the race, Energumene is now a best price of 7/1 for the Arkle after dotting up at Naas. 

Willie Mullins’ seven-year-old bolted up in mightily impressive fashion this afternoon to blow the Arkle wide open. 

He jumped brilliantly throughout and showed his engine when putting the race to bed in commanding fashion. 

He easily got the better of the highly touted Captain Guinness with minimal fuss. 

Bookmakers quickly slashed his odds for the Arkle following his performance, with 76% of bets in the last 24 hours on oddschecker placed on the Tony Bloom owned runner. 

In turn, Shishkin was eased out slightly by three bookmakers to 4/5. He’s still the firm favourite but Energumene has just made the two mile novice chasing division very interesting.
