Roseys Hollow has thrown herself to the front of the market for the Mares Novice Hurdle at Cheltenham after winning at Fairyhouse this afternoon.
The JP McManus owned seven-year-old was a 33/1 chance before the race, but is now favourite with some bookmakers for the Mares' Novices' Hurdle.
She’s now a best price of 7/1 and as short as 5/1 with a few firms.
She got the better of both Royal Kahala and Gauloise who were the front two in the market for the Mares' Novices' Hurdle before the race.
In turn, Royal Kahala has drifted out to 6/1 and Gauliise is now a best price of 9/1.
Sent off as a 17/2 for today’s content, Roseys Hollow made smooth progress under Mark Walsh to take the lead two hurdles out. She then kept on well in the run-in, holding off the two in behind her with ease.
Royal Kahala was the 11/10 favourite and traded a short price in running but was unable to land a blow on the winner. It would be no surprise to see Peter Fahey’s mare upped in trip for her next run.
Gauloise was also one paced in the closing stages and never really looked like challenging the winner after the final hurdle.
It’s given a new look to the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle market and whilst Roseys Hollow deserves her place at the front of the market, the race is still very wide open.
